This 2005 Miss. State quarter Double strike recently sold on Ebay for a whopping $2,400. A record price for a Ebay State quarter Double strike sale and as much as any recent retail sale for a 2003-04 I'm aware of. Some other amazing ebay sales were for off center 2004 Wis State quarters, 2 recently sold for $650 & $900. It's clear that collectors are taking notice of anything dated 2002,2003,2004 & 2005, These dates are special as they clearly are very scarce for errors escaping the U.S. Mints in the past few years.

   While these record prices are currently astonishing, DON'T miss out on the cheaper earlier State quarter errors, such as 1999, 2000 & 2001. We particully like Delaware as it was the very first State of the series, then PA, NJ and any others after those. They are much cheaper and have excellant opportunity for growth.

   Speaking of Ebay, they currently have over 30 pages of errors. But most errors on those 30 pages are hardly worth mentioning and so few can be called exciting..

   Major auction houses have been offering some really neat errors, but none go cheap. Most sell way beyond, for what they are offered for on error dealers lists & websites.. So high, that a few dealers have been placing their inventory into these auctions.

   The NEW 2004 & 2005 Jefferson Nickels have been stirring quite a bit of excitment, especially if any have errors.

   We're frequently asked, what will be winners in the next few years.. Any Eye Appealling error like this 1997 Flip Over double Strike cent, Off metals will continue to grow currently $200-500, expect to see $500 to $1,000. Also Deep caps (Obverse), Fold-Overs, Bowtie clips, Struck thru cloth (strong weave pattern), Missing copper plating on cents(certified), Struck clad layers, Multi strikes, MOST anything that is seldom seen anymore or made! These will cost multiples from what they are costing today. BUT our favorite pick, IS the Double denomination whether 6c,11c, or any! They are the sexiest error out there.. Just amazing for the collector to see two different struck denominations on ONE coin. High graded, strongly struck examples will eventually reach $2,500 -$3,000. Watch & see.
