Indian Cent errors are heating UP-Big time and are becoming a major force in the Error market. That's because Indian cents & varieties have become such a huge numismatic force.
Expect the same from Off Center early Lincoln's, especially in high grades as Early Lincoln's cents are heating up too.
Off metals have taken off again and it's not unusual to see a dated Nickel on a Cent sell for over $300. Our advice is to find the best examples, with FULL Date and rim behind the date showing as these will draw premiums. Also FULL Steps (6) examples should bring additional premiums.
Cents on dime, as well as Quarters on nickels (pre-1999) have also made recent price gains.
The Nov 6th Bowers Auction (Baltimore) will give us a better idea of the direction that better early type errors will be taking! I'm pretty sure these will set some amazing price records.
The upcoming FUN show (Orlando, Fla) January 9th-12th, 2003 will undoubtedly be the high point of errors for this year and the start of next year. Make your reservations early for flights and hotels, etc. if you plan to attend. Try the FUN website for Hotel needs: funtopics.com.
All parts of the Error market are Hot, even in-collar double strikes, Off Centers, Unplated cents (certified), Caps, Reverse Caps, Fold-Overs, Brockages, Multi strikes, Missing Clad Layers and just about anything unusual and eye-appealing. It's hard to make a wrong turn in a market like this...
Till next month...
