What's HOT and What's NOT?

Better, high grade Statehood quarter errors are, as expected, VERY HOT, especially the off-metals (that's nothing new..)

Actually all off-metal error coins, especially silver cents, are still very strong. That's a pre-1965 cent struck on a 90% silver dime planchet. Look for higher grade examples, AU or better if possible. Best dates are 1940s and 1950s. For any off metal, look for original surfaces and luster, and you'll never go wrong with your purchase.

Indian cent, Buffalo nickel, Standing Liberty quarter, and Walking Liberty half dollar major and better errors are always HOT and sought after, as are most other type coin errors that are eye appealing.

What's NOT hot?? We've been seeing a lot of low-grade porous planchet large cent

errors lately. Be very careful of these low-end coins. They can bite you if you don't know what you are doing.

Some very undervalued coins include 100% unplated certified zinc planchet cents, fold-over dated cents (which are obsolete with the new Schular presses), and major off-centers on wheat cents, especially the steel cents of 1943, war nickels, mercury dimes - even the SBA dollars are a bit cheap, since they fell out of favor with the introduction of the new Sacagawea dollar.

With all these undervalued coins, be on the lookout for deals in high grade, major off-centers with nice eye appeal.

Until Next month!!
